Blois.
In search of this beacon Wim comes to what is indicated as an airfield,
but which at first sight seems to be a campsite.
It is the part of the Le Breuil airfield for sports/gliders. They also camp there.
The beacon is on the other side of a runway,
so to not scare anyone I dusted off the telephoto lens.
Directions from the Loire bridge (D174) at Blois to BLB, approx. 17km – 20 min.
Depart in a north-westerly direction on the D174 to Avenue de Verdun/N152, follow this road for approx. 0.7 km.
Continue on Boulevard des Cités Unies/N252, go straight over one roundabout.
After 2 km, take the 2nd exit at Rond-Point Robert Nau to the D200 towards Vendôme/Blois-Nord/Le Mans/Fossé.
After 2.5 km, take the 1st exit at the roundabout to the D957/Route de Vendôme,
follow the D957 for 7.5 km, going straight over 5 roundabouts.
Then take the 3rd exit at the sixth roundabout and continue on the D957 for 1.8 km.
Please note that the main airport is straight ahead, but you do not need to go there.
Turn left onto the D26 and after 1.2 km, turn left towards the airport.
Continue straight ahead as long as possible,
bend with the road at the airport and where the road is blocked by concrete blocks,
you will see the beacon on the right between the buildings.
