The Locator CM is located in the middle of Avignon (Caumont) airport. We asked for information in the flying club restaurant. There they pointed outside and yes, the beacon was far out of reach. When asked if it was possible to get closer, it was reported that people on the tower would be willing to give permission. It is not busy at this airport. Unfortunately, it was a quarter past twelve at the time. In France, lunch is from twelve to two and there is nowhere to go. Not even on the tower! The first photo was therefore taken with the telephoto lens at maximum next to the tower.
We then drove along the south side of the airport to a narrow road that runs along the east side of the field. There is the remains of an old pumping station. Photo two could be taken while standing on the wall.

Avignon is a city with history. The seat of the Pope stood here for a while. If you have a co-driver who wants to see something else as beacons, then take a look at the old part of the city.
