Compiegne VOR/DME CPE, 20 July 2007

According to our data, there was a Locator beacon near Compiegne airport. Wim was very surprised to see a VOR/DME. Don't worry, it was just outside the fence of the military helicopter base. So I quickly took a photo. Information at the flying school showed that the Locator CO had already been canceled and that the VOR/DME was also disappearing as the helicopter base was closed in the spring.

You can get to the base by taking the exit for Margny-les-Compiegne from the N1031, turn left under the N1031 and after approximately 2 km turn right at the intersection. Immediately after the Helicopter Base is a road to the beacon.
This beacon is not in the 2024 GEN 2.5 list.
