From Wim's travelogue:
GL for Nantes is on the map near a lake,
Lac du grand Lieu. With the help of both GPS devices I arrive at GL.
GL
Then I want to see that lake. So on my way and according to Miss Garmin I would float in the middle of it at some point.
But everything here is green as grass! I grabbed the road atlas and picked another spot.
And yes, now I really come to the lake. However, sometimes when the water level is higher it can become swampy at that other spot.
There must be many beautiful birds here, but most of them are certainly having a lunch break. I do see two egrets and a few ducks.
Then I'll have a picnic myself.
By the way, the largest birds I see here are the products of Airbus and Boeing.
This beacon is not in the GEN 2.5 list of 2024.
A lake or not a lake?
Around Lac de Grand Lieu, egret.
Wagtail.
A very different kind of bird.
