NDB GV, Granville, 26 September 2011

From Wim's travel report:
Next on my list is the Granville beacon in Normandy. Miss Mio reports that it is a 320 km drive. There is no motorway that goes directly in this direction and the route takes a big bend past Caen. The GV beacon is still on my Jeppesen map, but no longer on the latest list from France. Not far from the final destination it starts to rain. That is good against insects on the windscreen. But on the back roads there are many tractors with trailers, it is time for the corn harvest here. And with the rain a lot of dust disappears from the air, but now there is a layer of mud on the roads.
When I arrive at the coordinates I do not find a mast, but between the overgrown vegetation there is a house that looks like a beacon. So then with the camera into the wilderness and I find enough traces to be certain that this was indeed GV.
