Locator MJ, Marseille (Provence), 7 june 2015

From Wim's travel report:
Marignane is located south of Marseille airport where NDB MJ should be located. A spot was found where the mast was found with the help of the handheld GPS and a photo was taken with a tripod and long telephoto lens. We were standing half on a road that led further to a private property that was behind green bushes and trees. Just as we were packing up, a blue car came out of the gate and the occupants - gendarme - kindly but firmly wanted to know what was being photographed and who we were. It turned out that their barracks are behind those bushes. After fifteen minutes we said goodbye to each other again in a friendly manner.
The beacon is no longer on the GEN 2.5 list of March 21, 2024.
