The VFM beacon at Nauheim will be a real test. This one, like yesterday's STG, is also located next to the highway.
It is located on a former parking lot of the highway, but the entrance is closed.
Miss Garmin wants to send us to the other side of the road because she thinks the beacon is there.
I just saw that I had not noted the north coordinates correctly. We can't blame MG this time.
I had noted a street name from Google Earth, so that is entered. But it was not quite right.
So we got the handheld. It knew a street name, so we went there (P1).
The handheld wants to be somewhere behind the houses, in a park. When we get close after a long walk,
there appears to be a stream running around the former parking lot. So back to the car and to another spot in the residential area (P2).
Now we walk directly behind the parking lot. But that is on a steep hill.
We walk more and more in the right direction and come to a fence of a familiar construction, we are very close,
yes, we can already see a piece of DVOR through the trees.
The fence leads to the old parking lot and is placed in the old mesh fence that once separated the parking lot from the residential area.
We walk down a path to a house and are now standing nearby,
a path through the bushes takes us next to the fence, i.e., next to the old fence of the parking lot.
Around the beacon is the sturdy fence that is currently in use and that stands around many beacons.
We take a few photos as best we can.
